Wouldn't it be great if we could all find success and a book deal just by writing in a blog? I am fascinated with the story of Julie&Julia, the woman who blogged for a year about cooking her way through Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking. If only we could all have a brilliant idea like that! But I guess that route has been taken and the rest of us have to find our own brilliant ideas lying somewhere by the side of the road.The movie's not half bad, either. Meryl Streep is brilliant, as usual, and Amy Adams is as charming as ever. Stanley Tucci shines as a supporting actor to Streep's Julia Child. Chris Messina, who plays Amy Adams' husband, is adorable and really brings the movie together for me. The film will leave you desiring to write a blog, if not for riches and fame, but for the sheer heck of it. And of course, the slim chance at achieving greatness.
